BY SEA
You can travel to Alibaug by sea. We recommend you to travel by sea as it will make your trip more memorable. An early morning ride or late
afternoon ride is recommended.
Catamaran Services to Alibag operate from the Gateway of India, Mumbai. The catamaran services start from 6 am and continue to 6 pm. They are also the best way to get the Alibag because of the thrill to travel in a ferry. The ferry will take you to Mandwa Jetty. From there the catamaran services will take you to Alibaug in a bus or rickshaw (the price for the road commutation is included in the original fare. So you do not have to to pay anything extra).
When you get down at Alibaug, catch a rickshaw and ask for Old Chaitanya hospital. You will see our bungalow sign just before you reach the spot.
The ferry services are suspended during the rainy season. Please check before you plan.
BY ROAD
By car
If you are travelling in a car from Mumbai, you take the Mumbai-Goa Highway. The road is through Karnala, where you can take a short stop and visit the Karnala Bird Santuary. You follow the highway till Wadkhal Naka and then divert by taking the road to the right. About 45 minutes travel from this diversion will get you to Alibaug town
By Bus
State Transport buses ply to Alibaug throughout the day. The frequency of the buses is also very good. Alibaug can be reached from major cities like Thane, Pune, Kolhapur, Nashik, Aurangabad etc. From Mumbai, you can board the bus at Mumbai Central, Parel, Dadar, Borivali, Chembur & Mulund.
